Big Dave’s Bio
A Lifetime of Music
Dave Gross, a.k.a. BIG Dave was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He grew up with stacks of 45s, a turntable, microphone and a reel-to-reel tape recorder. Things haven’t been the same since! After a childhood making adventurous super 8 movies, playing drums, and acting (he played the lead role of Dracula in his senior play), Dave got his start at college radio station WHPC-FM, showcasing the San Francisco music sound. After college he moved way out west to the Bay Area creating voiceovers and comedy bits. He produced and hosted his own television show “Free Admission: The Rock & Roll Trivia Game Show.” During the 90s, Dave managed and produced artists including guitar great Harvey Mandel (Canned Heat, John Mayall, Rolling Stones), and later earned an RIAA-certified gold record for his work with the Grateful Dead on their box set, “So Many Roads (1965-1995).” He was a voting member of the Recording Academy for twenty-five years and a writing member of ASCAP and published the long-time music industry newsletter Punmaster’s MusicWire. In 2002, he moved to Sonoma County and joined the KRUSH 95.9. His weekly radio show called The Rockabilly Roadhouse with Big Dave, is two big hours of high-octane roots music, Guaranteed to kick start your weekend!

Radio Tombstone
Programmed by Big Dave, Radio Tombstone was an inspiration after a visit to the historic town of Tombstone, Arizona with his pal Cap’n Mike. Conjuring up the spirits of this lawless town, the idea sprung for a radio station emanating out of the old historic Ice House in Tombstone, playing a great mix of music in that Old West spirit. Grab a strong cup of coffee or do as Doc Holliday did, drink a couple of shots of Old Overholt rye whiskey and take a wild ride in the desert sun. HIT SHUFFLE AND PLAY.
